Dr. Choi has research experience in computational and experimental fluid flow and transport phenomena in conjunction with engineering applications, particularly in the area of water resources. His research involves water security and safety, the design of urban water distribution infrastructures, and the evaluation of real-time water quality sensors. Currently he is investigating the dispersion and fate of chemicals and pathogens in water distribution systems and corresponding quantitative risk assessments; real-time measuring of water quality and the computational simulation of solute transport in water distribution systems; and the development of water quality models and computer codes to improve the management of water distribution networks. Dr. Choi received his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University and is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Arizona . He also serves as an affiliated faculty member of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering and as a joint faculty member in the Environmental Health Sciences Program of the College of Public Health .
