Responsible for network administration of the College of Agriculture's servers and network. Provide technical solutions and support for all network operations in the college; including file sharing, print sharing, application sharing, data recovery, and security. Isolate, identify, troubleshoot and correct LAN network operating systems and Desktop operating systems. Utilize NT server, Solaris Server, network protocols and topologies such as TCP/IP over Ethernet. Manage and maintain operation of UNIX network server including operation of Email services, accessing shared file systems, network printing and web services. Analyze, identify, plan, and install network systems for departments and county offices by implementing NT Server Domain models for College departments and maintaining user accounts, and distributed software. Conduct training seminars in the use of client software, and other network related software such as web creation(HTML) software, (Front Page, Netscape Gold). Coordinate with college webmaster in posting and creating websites for college and individual departments. Recommend, purchase and setup computer systems for department personnel as well as individual computers in the research areas. Provide support for software including reviewing, recommending, installing, updating and upgrading. Provide training and documentation on use of hardware and software features.
