About me
I delight in playing with numbers, whether it's data or code. I am curently a researcher at the University of Arizona. I work at a place called, ERAD.
My duties here include a myriad of things including but not limited to: database dev, webmastering, survey design and testing, program evaluation, online surveys, statistical analysis, etc.
I just finished completing my dissertation in the field of sociology at the UA. My dissertation is entitled, Sounds Of Distinction: Analyzing Socioacoustics To Map The Combinatorial Logic Of Status And Class. I collected musical samples for 18 musica genres, as found in the 1993 General Social Survey. I extracted acoustic information from these genres and then analyzed prefernences for the formal properties of sound by status, class, gender, age, and ethncitiy.
Another passion is my music. Check out my band, if you have a chance, The Mission Creeps
