INSTRUCTIONS


Follow the steps below to save water and more efficiently maintain your lawn.
Step 1.
Place empty shallow, flat-bottom cans on your lawn.
Three or four evenly spaced cans should suffice for
a 15' x 15' lawn. Use more cans for larger lawns.
Step 2.
Turn on the sprinklers for exactly 15 minutes.
Step 3.
Measure the depth of water in each can to the nearest
tenth of an inch, and record all depths on a piece of paper.
Step 4.
Log in to this website and enter the depths of water
in each can to determine the proper amount of time
to run your irrigation system.
Helpful Hints :

1. Cans: Use tuna or cat food cans.

2. Avoid placing cans close to the sprinkler heads
    or near the edge of your lawn area.

3. If you water only part of your lawn at one time,
    repeat the test for each area.
