The cane fruits such as blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, currants, gooseberry, or kiwifruit can be a great joy to grow in and around our gardens. The areas above 4,000 feet elevation in our areas are conducive for growing these. They are a great addition to cereal, salads, smoothies, and of course pies and jams. You can find out about their specific requirements for growing such, like their preference to slightly acidic soil and how to help them perform more optimum in alkaline soils, when the best time is to prune them, what sort of fertilizer and watering they prefer, and overall general maintenance. These wonderful cane fruits do very well in these higher elevations of our grand desert.
