What you can expect to see in the coming weeks...
The concrete for each floor will be poured at the beginning of June. If you peak through the fence, you will see that the first floor has BLACK concrete. By the end of the project, we will grind down the top layer of concrete to expose the rock within. The finished product will be shined and create a terrazzo like surface. You will be able to find some of this ground concrete on each floor.
With each floor receiving concrete at the beginning of the month, the tradesmen will be able to access the ceiling space on each floor and begin to install the Heating, Cooling, Electrical, Fire Sprinkler and Communications Systems. On the exterior, masons have begun laying the block walls which will surround the school's classrooms. Metal stud framers have begun to stand 20' studs in preparation for sheathing and finally a brick façade.
