Papaya Recipes
Papaya Ice Cream
- 1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup half & half or whipping cream
In a blender or food processor fitted with metal blade, puree papaya and lemon juice. In a medium saucepan combine sugar, beaten eggs and milk. Cook and stir over low heat until the mixture thickens and coats a spoon. Add papaya and half and half. Pour into ice cream canister. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
Makes 1 quart
Papaya Smoothie
- 1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and sliced
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup frozen vanilla yogurt
Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth.
Makes 1 serving
