CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The abstract submission process is now open for the Third International Lygus Symposium in Scottsdale, AZ, October 28-31, 2012

Attendees are welcome to present a paper, poster, or both if on different topics. Please submit separate abstracts if presenting both a paper and poster. All oral presentations will be plenary talks and 15–20 minutes in length depending on the volume of submissions. Posters will be on display for an extended period. Topics that are currently being developed for the symposium are listed below. Please do not feel limited by these categories.

Biological Control
Chemical Control/New Chemistry
Ecology/Behavior
Extension Programs
Insecticide Resistance
Integrated Pest Management
Landscape Ecology/Host Interactions
Molecular Biology
Movement/Dispersal

The deadline for submission is October 6, 2012. Abstracts will be collated and posted on the website prior to the conference, unless a specific request is made to withhold the abstract.

Please send your presentation information electronically via email to Jeff Gore using the guidelines below. In the subject line of the email include “ILS Poster” if you are submitting a poster or “ILS Paper” if you are submitting an oral presentation.

Abstracts from the last conference at Asilomar were published in aggregate in the Journal of Insect Science. Depending on interest, we could pursue a similar outlet again this time. See: http://www.insectscience.org/8.49/

GUIDELINES:

Title – The full title of your abstract.

Principal Presenter – Provide name, affiliation and email address. The person listed as the principal presenter will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all other authors of the status of the given abstract.

Other Authors – Provide names and affiliations.

Body of Abstract - maximum 300 words

Permission to Post Abstract on Website – Yes/No

Interest in Publishing Final Revised Abstracts in a Journal (like JIS) – Yes/No
