What information is needed for ALIRT?
The incident report sheet will help to collect and organize the information that the ALIRT First Responder will need to provide to the ALIRT Committee and aide in finding a diagnosis. Provide as much information as possible.
Scene Preservation and Biosecurity
It is important to minimize disturbance at the location where the animals are found. The scene must be viewed as a potentially infectious site. This action is imperative if an infectious disease is to be contained, controlled, and eradicated before major harm can be inflicted on the cattle industry or the public. Access needs to be limited to prevent possible contamination of other areas and other livestock.
