Forge meaningful connections with peers from across campus, share delicious and healthy meals, and elevate your well-being in the weekly CALES Elevate Evenings.

Meet new friends & build a stronger CALES community

Elevate Evenings are weekly community events throughout the academic year for CALES students and their friends to make connections over healthy meals and mindfulness practices from yoga and fitness to financial wellness, dance, artistic creations and nature activities. By participating, you will help build a healthier CALES community as you meet new friends and develop wellness skills alongside your peers.

Elevate Evenings will be posted to the student events calendar soon. Tentative meeting dates include:

  • Sept. 11 – Nov. 20: Wednesdays, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Jan. 29 – April 16: Wednesdays, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Wellness Leadership Team

We're seeking motivated student leaders to engage fellow students in weekly wellness experiences at our Elevate Evenings program through mindfulness practices, yoga, fitness activities, financial wellness, dance, artistic creations, connecting with nature and more. Wellness Leaders have a unique opportunity to build a stronger, healthier college community and make a real difference in the lives of fellow students.

Wellness Leaders receive mentorship, training and will play an active role in building a healthier, stronger campus community. As a program leader, you will:

  • Receive training, coaching and mentoring to grow your wellness expertise
  • Learn valuable leadership skills and build your resume
  • Become a stronger you, both personally and professionally
  • Have the option of earning internship credit!

Some of the activities you lead could include:

  • Increase the culture of wellness in CALES by participating in weekly Elevate Evenings wellness events.

You will lead and engage other students in wellness activities at weekly Elevate Evening events for fall 2024 & spring 2025 semesters. You must be able to make the following commitments:

  1. Attend 2 Wellness Leader Trainings:
    1. ZOOM - Wednesday, August 14th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
    2. In-Person - Wednesday, September 4th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
    3. Make-up trainings can be arranged as needed.
  2. Attend Elevate Evening wellness events:
    1. Fall 2024 semester: Wednesday evenings, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., Sept. 11th - Nov. 20th.
    2. Spring 2025 semester: Wednesday evenings, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., Jan. 29 - April 16th.
    3. No Elevate Evening events will be held on holidays or during school breaks.
  3. Total yearly Wellness Leader time commitment is a minimum of 45 service hours, plus 5 training hours.

To be eligible to apply to the Wellness Leadership team, you must:

  • Express a strong commitment and desire to foster student wellness and belonging.
  • Show a willingness to be an effective communicator in leading groups of fellow students.
  • Have the ability to effectively work with a diverse student population.
  • Consistently be punctual and able to effectively manage commitments.
  • Enroll as a UA student for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters.
  • Qualified applicants will be invited to interview (Zoom or in-person) with the CALES Director of Student Wellness
